  1. Much has been going on with getting these resources to you.
Along with networking city wide, with multiple agencies, mass job references, and pertinent info; we’re promoting, and endorsing Mr. Tio Hardiman as a candidate for the Governor seat of Illinois- along with Brunell Donald.
On top of this, the immediate Chicago snow has hit (along with the drop in temp)- so my staff is minimal, and it’s already a close knit few…
However, we’re soldiers, thus the life line continues. Selah

  2. Along the way, ULON has partnered with the Tio Hardiman Campaign, as he climbs for the Governor chair. We are going full throttle- and it will be a challenge- that we welcome!

  3. Finally Tio is on the ballot. The press is having to succumb to his arrival with minimal press- but slowly covering him.
Mr. Hardiman has been on WBBM, and Ch 11 (WTTW-PBS). FOX had done a short clipping of his being on the ballot, but opened up with ex gang member. He should sue. They later during the program “contracted” that statement. Trying too hard to smear his name.
Ulon has been climbing as well. The website is getting many recruits to help, as well as interns. Much still to be done before the March 1st opening, to the public.

  4. Getting Mr. Hardiman on UICRadio.org this Sat 2-4pm. Tune in. Also going downstate to the Colleges. Slowly but surely he is getting Press time- not enough though. Just did Mancow with him too- but Mancow is too filled with Satire, and obnoxious sarcasm- can only get minimal seriousness; but what do you expect- it’s Mancow. The WBBM Interview with Tio & Brunell was nice, touched some pertinant issues.
Ulon is climbing, and the support too- as well as with the site.

  5. Keeping the momentum going here at the Ulon for Mr. Hardiman Campaign. Tio has been downstate again, and the new flyers have hit the scene. Quinn still refuses to debate against us, which isn’t surprising. Tio just did pics with the Chicago Trib, and had another ABC interview. Awesome efforts are accumulating from the press- just not “all” appropriate. But like they said- some media is still better than none; it’s all about getting the Hardiman name out there.
Did a meaningful interview on UICRADIO.ORG today that went well. Quite in depth. Took Brunell Donald-Kyei to back up Tio, which she did, and excellent as always. Having a past as a lawyer is a bonus concerning speaking upon what she knows. Can’t beat it.
Will have new ULON flyers out Monday.

  6. Tio Hardiman went to Governor Quinn’s downtown Campaign office today, to hand deliver him a letter of intent for a debate. Channel 7 was there to tape the entering of the building. There was a nice interview as well. Quinn has let the state down, and it is imperative to allow another contender a shot at the handling of the responsibilities.
Tio will be at Trinity Church tomorrow, as well as Can TV. I even got him a slot at my own Church to Speak.
WVON has done a commercial with Brunnel Donald-Kyei soon to be Lieutenant Governor, which is already airing. Chicago Tribune will be covering him next week, and he will be on CLTV on March 6th.

  7. TIO HARDIMAN WENT TO SPEAK AT APOSTOLIC ASSEMBLY CHURCH YESTERDAY, AFTER COMING FROM A CHURCH IN EVANSTON- FULL HOUSE. HE THEN WENT TO HOLY TRINITY, WHICH IS A LARGE CHURCH ON 95TH ST.
RECEIVED CALL FROM UNIVISION- THEY HAVE A NEW SHOW CALLED FUSION; THEY WANT ME TO BE INTERVIEWED FOR IT. THE SHOW IS BASED UPON THOSE THAT WERE ONCE IN THE STREET LIFE, AND HAVE SINCE CHANGED THEIR LIVES…
I’M REACHING OUT TO SOME OF THE OTHER YOUNGER GUYS THAT CHANGED THEIR LIVES TOO. ALSO GOT A CALL FROM ONE OF THE REAL ULON BROTHA’S WHO GOT AN INTERVIEW SET UP WITH POWER 92 FOR TIO, AND BRUNELL. THEN TALKED TO ANOTHER GENTLEMAN, WHO HAS A SHOW ON CAN TV, AND WANTS TO INTERVIEW THEM. THE ALMIGHTY IS DEFINITELY OPENING DOORS!

  8. TIO HAS BEEN CAMPAIGNING COUNTY TO COUNTY, CITY THROUGH CITY WITH BRUNELL, THROUGHOUT THE STATE- AS THE BOXING MATCH ENSUES WITH THE REPUBLICANS. CALLED THEM THE OTHER DAY AS “BRADY” WAS BEING INTERVIEWED TO GIVE MY INPUT ON THE BLAND INTERVIEW. IT SEEMS BRADY FEELS THAT IT WILL BE HE AGAINST RAUNNER- THE BILLIONAIRE; MONEY VS HEART AND DRIVE. BUT “ALL” HAVE FORGOTTEN TO WATCH THE HARDIMAN CAMPAIGN AS HE SLIPS THROUGH THE CRACKS… EAZING UP WITH THE DEMOCRATIC FOLLOWING. EACH ONE IN OUR CAMP APPEARS TO BE WORKING OVERTIME, AND PUT IN WHAT IS NECESSARY- AND SOME.
FROM RADIO TO TELEVISION, TIO CONTINUES TO PURSUE, AND WE SUPPORT THE NOBILITY. 100%. MUCH OF HIS FOOTAGE, AND MATERIAL ARE ON HIS SIGHT AT http://WWW.HARDIMANFORILLINOIS.COM
HE WILL BE TAPED AGAIN FOR CABLE THIS THURSDAY- AND TUNE IN TO POWER 92 THIS SUNDAY AT 7PM TO HEAR HIM LIVE.
LISTEN, AND DECIDE IF THE ISSUES HE, AND BRUNELL ARE DISCUSSING- ARE WHAT OUR CITY, AND STATE NEEDS. I THINK YOU’LL AGREE, THEY ARE.
ULON IS GROWING, AS WE NETWORK THROUGHOUT THE CITY. I WELCOME ALL THAT WOULD LIKE TO WORK THIS SUMMER AS INTERNS.
    MUCH LUV

  9. The “Boxing Match” continues on the Democratic end of the stick, as Heavy weight Tio Hardiman, continues to pummel the Nowtime champ Quinn, pushing him to debate. Tomorrow Mr. Hardiman will be having a 24hr sleep over (Camp-out)in front of Governor Quinns Campaign office. This statement is directed toward the evasive act that Quinn is continuing by not debating Mr. Hardiman. This “Camp-out” will be in front of Quinns Campaign office- 676 N. Lassale. Feel free to stop by, and show your Support.

  10. Tio was interviewed by a reporter from the Chicago Reader today. Afterward, Brunell Tio and I took him to Truman college, as we passed out literature. Had some good conversations with the public.
Then went to Wendell Phillips tonight. Tio was on a panel with some other prestigeous community figures. We were also intersted in going to Loyola to attend a discusion that Governor Quinn was speaking at- Tio was actually invited to speak, but some type of miscommunication transpired, and we got the message too late.
So there we were- and who should I see come down to speak, but my old friend “Michael James” who owns Heartland Cafe. It was good seeing him on that stage- then Tom dart spoke which I and someone else confronted him about some problematic things with County Jail. My question to him was that- why is is that you can’t get through on the internet with the “fill-out” Visitation list. Period. It keeps sending you somewhere else- which sends you “back” to the original page that starts all over again. He couldn’t answer, he too went all around the bush- ending up at the beginning.
Then it was Governor Quinns turn- and I let him have it. I let him come out with 20 minutes of lies then, wham! At the slightest pause i his lies- I abrubtly cut in, “Excuse me Governor, with all due respect, speaking on all the Democrats here, and Loyola, why is it that you keep bringing up that Raunner is your only contender, when you keep forgetting to mention the only other Democrat on the ballot Tio Hardiman. A Man who has done ten years as a public servant, raising ten million dollers for Cease fire, who has a track record of raising funds, whose credible- and who’d like a debate with you. Would you debate with Mr. Hardiman?” And he was stuck, stumbling quickly for words said, “Well.. Um, I have my ways of campaigning, and he has his.” and I replied, “So would you debate with him?” and rocking back, and fourth, replied the same words, “well like I was just saying I um have my ways of Campaigning, and he has his.” I cut in, “So yes, or No!?” he was stuck, as people started laughing at him. He mumbled some other words, and closed out, while jeting out of the back (behind the curtain) of the stage. As he was leaving a girl behind me hollered out about the fracking isue.
Afterward many were intersted in getting Ulon & Tio Hardiman literature.

  11. Since it’s slightly after 12am, I’ll have to say “yesterday”- so, yesterday March 1st- Tio & Brunell made their appearance at The House of Hope- on Chicago’s South Side. It was a “Meet The Candidates” forum, and packed with Officials, Judges, Unions, education personel, Housing administrators, and Candidates. All spoke, and all applauded the sincerity, and forward answers of Tio & Brunell. I knew so many of the people there that I had dealt with through the years. Networked with “all” promoting the Hardiman Campaign, and Ulon’s work agenda with the youth; Also saw a relative of my sons family, and was honored to finally meet a fellow Campaign partner “Mim” who is quite the enthusiast.
Went to an early lunch with Mim, and two of her fellow associates, while disussing light politics.
Started getting ready for another event that night with my entertainment associate, and friend “Ill Will” (a professional comedian) that was to acompany, and perform with me at this Fund raiser which was for Beverly Perteet- she’s running for State Rep.
The night went well, along with My speach, and our performances. Great networking night, as I push the Hardiman Campaign as a forefront of my political agenda, what I believe in- and who I Support.
The owner of the establishment tonight liked our performance so much they would like us to come regularly to their entertainment night. I will keep you posted, as this invite manifests into reality.

  12. Set up two people with Jobs yesterday, and listened as Tio & Brunell graced the radio airwaves (Power 92). Gotta say Much Luv to My boy Dmitry, who has always been the man behind the scenes, when it comes to certain connects.
Ulon is growing, and the connects are increasing… all need help (and desire it) when it comes to change, and hope for the future. So many people call, text, email come see me… and stop me on the streets- crying out for change, and help with their situations.
Today is the first day of early voting, thus I’m excited. Even if Tio doesn’t pull the numbers that are expected- I’m so Proud. I’m so Proud that we believed in his perseverance; I’m so proud that he has others that are rooting for him; i’m so proud to be a part of the team, i’m proud of where he’s been, and who he’s influenced. There are many within this State counting on Tio that don’t even know him, never have met him… but they are about to lose their homes, or jobs- that just need the help of someone like Tio. A Governor can make a lot of change, if that’s his motive.
Many of these politicians are doing “extra credit” so to speak during this time frame: hitting these hospitals, SHELTERS, town hall meetings (which they never showed up before) radio stations, running ads, shaking hands- and kissing the babies- just a mess; you can tell the phonies from the sincere… it’s the name of the game. However, not only is it a mockery of the publics intelligence, but people are tired of it- enough is enough. People aren’t falling for the banana in the tail pipe any longer!

  13. The last two days have been a grind for Tio, and Brunell. Yesterday Tio went to Ohare airport to speak with the Cab drivers- who Tio sympathizes with concerning their low wages. The Cab drivers sat, and listened; all agreed with Tio’s uplifting answers toward their situations, and wage concerns. Many were won over, and are now “ON” the Hardiman trail.
Tio, and Brunell were on CLTV “Politics Tonight” on Comcast. The Media still seems to shy from the Hardiman Reality. It’s offensive. Tio continues to push, and for every 10 blocks he traverses- 2 gets covered. We work hard for the airtime, and yet we shouldn’t have to- being the only other Democrat on the ballot.
Recently, a Press conference was held in Washington Illinois where Governor Quinn attended. Deja vu with the Hardiman camp pursued, as crowd goers outwardly questioned Quinn as to why he wouldn’t Debate with Mr. Hardiman. Again, aimlessly unanswered.
On the South Side of Chicago ULON continues to Network, as job referral organizations partnership getting ready for the summer. Also, received the good news today that a grant for a summer program came through- from Illinois Department of Transportation. It has truly been about “Networking with others” that push this forward.
Continuing the South Side progress, Tio, and Brunell, spread like tentacles through the neighborhoods passing out literature, shaking hands, and pushing their grassroots Campaign. Much Love to them.
It’s important that we all punch #11. Not just for immediate growth, but a domino effect that starts with any “good” politician once others see the changes, and growth it induces- statewide.
    Punch #11.

  14. Had first meeting today with Ted (CEO of Row Cypher), and plans were discussed for Summer Programs for certain problematic areas of Chicago; that we will be bringing activities. The focus is to make young men & women (predomiantly black, and Hispanic) aware of the “safety’s” in prevention, of car accidents- due to not buckling up. Reaching them by “eye catchers” so to speak, that will intice them to become a part of these activities. This organizing itself will be a feat.
Speaking of eye catching- Tio graced WGN tonight with a full Channel 9 synopsis rather than the regular minimal one. I was pleased. Yes they couldn’t help but bash him slightly with the only ammo they currently possess- the “false” domestic claim on his wife. Which was merely a “Verbal” everyone. Hello. It’s not only getting tired, but self inflicting “irritation” toward these Stations that continue to present it. A Verbal domestic has no Validity toward airtime- People, let’s move on.
Other then the 30 seconds WGN spent on the negative, the other 95% was excellent. As I said, I was pleased, and yet proud, all in one. For once, a news station opened the endearing intimate side of Tio (toward the public) which hadn’t been done yet, with a childhood picture, that I displayed on top of this; and another pic of Tio’s as a young adult. (This too I displayed). On a political view, this tonight was a tremendeous break through that is well overdue; should have happened months ago to build us up to this point. Is it too late- no. But this should open doors for other stations to finally see that WGN went forward, and hopefully they will follow suit. They also, finally gave credibility toward the fact that he’s the “only” other Democrat on the ballot, which too has been bypassed for so long (other then ABC) with major Networks. I myself will definitely take advantage of this crack in the door, that we’ve worked so hard for, and push full steam with my connects to keep the momentum going!

  15. From taping radio commercials to going State to State. The Hardiman Campaign is now in full launch! Brunell just taped another Can TV interview the other day, and Tio just got back from East St Louis, and Bellvile Il- Campaigning. What’s interesting is the pouring of enthusiasm from those that he greets, “We’re so glad someone is running against Quinn!” they plead. Over, and over is the cry.
Today Tio was interviewed in “What’s happening” Magazine, that serves North Chicago, and Waukegan Il. Time is running short, and communities are coming together for support in the Hardiman Campaign. People want change, and definitely need their minds free of Quinn.
As the days grow closer to the Primary’s, I find myself using incredible “balance” with both the Hardiman Campaign, and combining Ulon’s growth. Since Ulon is a tool to help those that need employment, or schooling, the numbers are grand, thus I utilize this. I talk with them, making sure they’re voters, and get them to “understand” the importance of this voting period. The grave importance. I also want them to see for themselves, and direct them to http://WWW.HARDIMANFORILLINOIS.COM. This is so they can grasp some of these issues that will ultimately help them and their families; if Tio is elected.
    Punch 11.

  16. Ding Ding, the match continues! Quinn “continues” to duck, as time on the clock winds down for his safety. Though, the game appears to be fixed- there will be a K.O March 18th! Mark My Words…
Tio hit the North side today. Marking the “Gold Coast” was a plan, and it was achieved. All in the Gold Coast met Tio with open conversation toward such issues as Fracking, and the State deficit. People gathered to listen, commenting when needed, and all felt satisfied. There was an underline connection.
Then it was down Division to Humboldt Park- While further West Brunell Campaigned on Madison/Pulaski.
The residents in Humboldt felt the urge to cry out, voicing their concerns as Tio listened open ear. The concerns revolved around employment, and the wrongs of the Judicial system. They were quite pleased with the Tio’s responses, and look forward to the 18th. It was an excellent receive for Mr. Hardiman in Humboldt Park.
Moving along through the city toward the other Hispanic communities, Tio graced “Little Village” and his Mexican voters. This arena obviously revolved around valid immigration concerns, and ideas toward the betterment of the job arena. He was greeted well, and all felt Tio’s sincerity.
All Candidates feel that they can be doing more, but according to “Strive Strategies” Tio Hardiman thus far is at 36% of the early votes. This is quite well, considering the Hardiman Campaign is non funded, and pushing forward (full Steam) with a fraction of finance the other candidates possess.
As in all races there are invisible road blocks- some not so invisible. Recently, PBS (WTTW) showed lack of integrity when rudely telling Mr Hardiman “We allowed you on the show one time, but your campaign doesn’t have any money” as if to say that you can buy your way on. Which is literally, and idiotically what they’re saying; because in the event Mr Hardiman landslides the votes, they have lost “foot in the door” to priority, or exclusives. Not wise on their behalf.
Much has been learned in this Campaign thus far: with the city, its concerns, priorities, preferences, finances, needs, strategies, and weaknesses. Politics can be as aggressive as you make it, or as stressful as you allow it. This Campaign on our end has been done with integrity, and hard work. Tio, and Brunell will continue the fight with an aggressive stride, that is fueled by integrity. Please join us.
Punch #11. Time To Be Heard!

  17. Everyday gets closer to Primaries.
Though I think about it, somehow it’s filed in the back of my mind- as I just “do” my part in our Campaign. I just keep doing…. and doing.
Today I had a great meeting at UIC. Getting things in order for our Summer Programs in conjunction with my boy Ted. Even there I pass out our Campaign literature, speaking with all, in hopes of persuading those who may not have even heard of Tio hardiman. But lately what I have found even more ironic (even slightly alarming) is how many people have been reading this blog. Thanking me for keeping them “updated” on how it’s going on the “Hardiman Time to be Heard” Campaign! Yes, they even quote our slogan, which catches me off guard. So at this time I’d like to thank all these people who are religiously faithful to this blog (Bryan “both” Brian’s, James, Susan, Mike, The Porter family, Peter L, Tom, Valerie, Gregory, Mim, Debbie, Mark P, Mark M, David, Tanya, and William to name a few- that I started writing down… see, I didn’t forget) always have to make time to those that email, and comment. And to all those that I didn’t mention, I will soon- keep the emails coming…
Tio has kept the steam engine chugging. Yesterday had a Press Conference in front of the Illinois State building. Quinn was the target, and the mismanaging of 54.5 million dollars; Tio is requesting he resign, enough is enough. How long shall this Charade continue!? The crowd outside grew larger as more press came (Ch. 5, 7, the Trib, and Associated Press), and all were glued to these prevalent issues.
Then it was down Madison st heading West. One of the many locations (and eatery landmarks) Tio stopped at was Ruby’s- once entitled Edna’s; West side favorite. Tio was greeted warmly, then made his way kiity-corner to “Catfish Corner”. Continuing the Campaign trail.
Then it was further West to the Austin Community; Tio actually “posted up” a physical visual- with sign in hand on the corner of Madison & Cicero! Awesome. What candidates do you know that will go by themselves to the deprived areas, and get out amongst the people- with a sign, as people stopped to talk- and vehicles honked in support.
I think one of the main things that white voters need realize is that this campaign is truly not about race, as many tend to view it- by visual alone. Those many white supporters we have, are thorough, they have done the homework, they know the issues, they know the facts, and they are voting for Mr. Hardiman because they are comfortable with his plan, background, public service track record, crime intervention history, and raising organizational funding accountability. This is exactly what our State needs. This is what kind of Governor we need. he has done this “without” being in a position to do more- can you imagine if given the chance, if being able to be in a proper “position” what OUR State can benefit?
Then it was off to the far South/East side to Campaign amongst the South Shore Community. He was greeted well, as he decided to go once again far West to his Campaign office in Maywood. He wanted to check on his Volunteers that he had placing calls, and returning emails.
Today Tio, and running mate Brunell Donald-Kyei finished their first 60 second commercial to be aired on WGN. (The commercial raised the awareness of Quinns unacceptable mismanaging of tax payers finance, also, the fact that Tio helped 300 ex fellons get hired, and the Hardiman 20/20 plan). I’ll keep you guys posted as to when this commercial will be aired- quite soon though, so be looking.
After the taping of the Commercial, Tio decided to go to ChinaTown. Though unmarked territory, a wise decision. Tio was greeted well, as he stopped to talk with store owners, and shoppers. This breath of fresh air sparked his notion to hit the Woodlawn Community next.
Tio Hardiman continues to raise eyebrows with those that felt he was naive, unrealistic, or even obtrusively malignant. Perceptions have been altered; as Tio continues to persuade, and impress not only the Media, but the common public.
I’m honored to continue pushing forward with Mr. Hardiman, and hope that you are too. It’s Time To Be Heard, so please make your Vote count* Punch #11

  18. So this is it. The odd thing is that no one on the team is nervous. Its more like we’re ready to get to the results.
The last two days have been a rampage of combing the State, city, and outline areas: from Joliet, to Bellwood, from Maywood to Broadview- Tio has been there.
On my end today, I grabbed one of the street team Phil, who partners with us, and hit the Gold Coast, Near North area (including what’s left of Cabrini, the Marshal Field’s Complex, and all in between.) Saw people I hadn’t seen in literally twenty years, and again, all in between; all enthusiastic about voting for Mr. Hardiman. Most had done the homework already, and had been following him, and the Campaign. They were comforted to get the extra push from a familiar face.
To me, personally, to Campaign in the left over Cabrini area was symbolic of a perfect finalization of an era for me. I had started My hardcore negative street life traversing Cabrini’s Row Houses on the way to Demico’s youth Center; which sat on the end Cabrini’s Wild End (as they call it) by Chicago avenue- more than 27 years ago. Demico’s was a glimmer of “hope” in an all wild Cabrini environment. And now, here I was traversing the finally of Cabrini’s Row Houses once again, but this time with the glimmer of Hope for an outside change with the Hardiman Campaign- in the same place as I started.
I couldn’t help but produce memories, as far back as those 27 years, and again, all in between, as I remembered certain doors, where families once lived, and the good times I had had here. All now riding on this glimmer of hope for tomorrow. (Later on today.)
I remember going down state with Tio from day one, before he was on the ballot- and the joy of finally feeling an achievement once he was “fully” on the ballot, where the media couldn’t deny it- though they surely tried to hide it.
    Everyone did their part.
And though there were ups and downs, as with any Campaign, our inner drive came from what we knew to be right- the hope that someone “who deserved to be in there” get a fair shot; and represent the underdog. We knew this to be Tio Hardiman.
Tonight, we are having our Victory Party, in hopes that our Voice was heard, and the majority of the people unite in thought at the polls- pushing number 11. We’re not trying to play God as we prophesize Victory- we merely ask for Grace, as we collectively speak it into existence “with” God as our backbone. So come out to Maywood Il. (842 S.17th ave.) which is 17th/Madison. At 6pm.
Losing is not an option, because we are all winners! Come out, and celibrate with us! Time To Be Heard! Punch #11.
    God Bless.

  19. I waited a few days to blog, to let the smoke clear, and to see the responses on all ends of this entire ordeal. Quad City Times writes that “Hardiman carries 30 counties in Democratic primary”. And goes on to discuss the divide, and Quinn’s weaknesses. There’s even a quote from Brunell (Tio’s running mate) which implies the need Quinn needs to address the issues of the people downstate- they obviously feel left out.
As the Hardiman camp sat there, the night of March 18th, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. Just that here we were. I knew that others may have been slightly nervous, and who could blame them, but I wasn’t. I “knew” the work that had been done: the endless nights being up sending emails, calls, and more calls, the continuous promotions, spending my own money in what I believed in, the talk shows, radio, streets, downstate, performances, internet, posts, lectures, the schools, street teams, colleges, media, news reporters, continuous traveling city wide and endless networking into the night. I had done it. And was ready to carry on the following day had he done any better…. gladly.
I watched the look on Tio’s face, he seemed poised and in control, but I had grown to know Tio. He was slightly nervous, in the sense that he just wanted this ordeal over… he was affected. as were most.
The numbers kept coming in, and finally WGN announced that they declared Pat Quinn the Democratic winner with 75% over Tio Hardiman; and though the numbers were still coming in, people felt disappointed, said their good byes, and started clearing out. I remained.
Tio went on with his second television interview. Then there was a third.
The night was declared a positive outcome with those that remained, as the numbers kept coming in. I shook Tio Hardiman’s hand, and let him know that it was truly an honor working on the team, and Campaign with him. I then embraced Brunnel, and said the same thing.
Tio, and I had actually become friends because of this Campaign; and I’m sure we’ll end up continuing our circles throughout this city. I also wouldn’t doubt us working together again soon.
The numbers came in the following morning. Tio Hardiman had 123,000 Votes throughout the state.
    Way to go Tio.
I think that in itself has changed politics in this state from here on out. Lieterally
Yesterday I received a quite personal, and sincere call from Brunell thanking me for all the hard work I had done for the campaign. It was nice to be acknowledged.

  20. well, I let the smoke clear from the campaign. AS you know ULON is growing, and there’s more to do.
My friend Ted and I received the green light from IDOT, for our summer program. We have 5 events to do. I’m excited because some of them are in my old stomping grounds! It makes me proud that I can give back to my old areas.
On top of that, I have another program that I am excited about! It deals with “returning citizens” which we used to call ex-offenders.
There has been another death within the Cabrini family. People don’t understand, how this affects us as a whole. The more deaths I see the more determined I get. And will continue….

  21. The days have gone by with shifts of importance; meaning, there will be days that have huge significance, and I felt that I’m moving forward. and others that seemed non void, and regular.
Political people, and ideas cross my path, and I walk through poverty until my feet like they’re immobile…and I keep going.

  22. So, as I keep going… I’ve partnered with SER, a wonderful program that has provided ‘interns’ for a certain amount of hours a week. These teens, and young adults (16-24) have had some type of ‘run in’ with the law- may have been on probation, may still be on probation, but are going through their program (and ours)to learn new skills. The interesting part about the program “Youth working for success” is that these interns actually get paid. Good stuff.
I’ve also partnered with Row Cypher which is ran by Ted Weissberg. Ted is an up and coming entrepreneur. We recently partnered with SCIL (under IDOT) and are working alongside, making the public aware of Traffic Safety

  23. Ulon has been getting new interns. They come , and do the work expeditiously, and I applaud their effort. Have been working with Ted Weissberg on our SCIL colab. They’ve been quite supportive (SCIL) with the communication, and it shows our great connection with them…
With SCIL sky is the limit. They let us “control” our own functions, as long as the theme is directed toward Traffic Safety, which gives us no undo pressure- as this promotion, networking, news, and press is up our alley. They’ve chosen the right team to represent them. I utilize my resources.
Ulon is growing, and along with it comes many more responsibilities. Many people don’t know, r understand what comes along with “running” an organization- tremendous labor, tremendous paper work, promotion, networking, socializing (when you don’t necessarily want to), finance (when you just don’t have it), man power, long nights, early days, favors, let downs, soliciting, sweat, road blocks… more road blocks.. minimal help… road blocks…
Will be on my boys radio station tonight (Dmitry Hughes). Look forward. Ulon

  24. Had a tremendous night last night with our second show- Row Cypher/ULON, under the SCIL umbrella. Last night we were up North on Jarvis (1502) at the “Poitin Stil”, and it was a packed house; with great talent… We hired long time friend, and fellow poet Kell-O-G. He’s been running “Poetry on the Patio” for years; an outside poetry set that is held literally in his spacious backyard. Great turnout.
It was good to see all the different backgrounds that attended, from Cabrini to Hyde Park, and all shades of the rainbow that just appreciate the art… and of course that wanted to compete for the prize!
Chicago has continued its violent spree in leading with deaths, and the whole “Chiraq” term has slowly tried to catch on; which I along with others have a problem with. First of all, it’s disrespectful toward any veterans who went over there and fought. Second, it was given to us by the news & media, which should have no say so when it comes to being able to mold societies wordage, even slang- they already dictate enough within mindset of what’s “important” with what we watch, and what they feel is news worthy. Thirdly, It is lowering self standards of our city to “allow” ourselves to “let” this new name catch on; allowing it to manifest this negative syndrome. It’s like sitting by and watching someone get raped with a knife, and doing nothing! Isn’t the fact of them getting raped worth the knife threat, or, are you just going to look the other way without saying anything!? Do we stand up- or allow it to happen…
I choose to stand up. So, lately as I’ve been on these radio stations speaking about our Summer programs, I have addressed it.
Chicago is such a full vibrant, artsy, historical city, from Jazz to Gospel- so much history. This will always be the Go Town to me, because we are Go Getters.
My son Preston just released his video “Just Ride” and it was actually good. This statement is coming from his worse critique, and I was impressed. Very impressed. I will be posting it soon to help endorse. I of course don’t like much of the killing gangster rap out there today, but this concept was perfect for the simple video; fit well, the music went well, and PK (Preston Keller) is a “good” quality rapper. This video could easily be on MTV. Compared to the garbage that is out there- Yes, I was impressed.
    Ulon.

  25. The Memorial Holiday was a treat this year. After going to Church, and First Lady laying down an awesome word- concerning “sight” and what do you “see”, I went out to Country Club Hill with My Ulon partner Reggie.. Had a blast just Barbecuing, having fun, and getting away. On top of that, it was my Sameka’s (My daughters) Birthday, she turned 14! Took care of her- bought her two pairs of shoes, and sent some money- wished I could have been there. The next day, my boy JRoc got married. And I took Comedian Ill Will with me city wide. Started by showing the Veterans love at RTW which was on 55th & King drive. Then Went North/West to My buddy Grants Barbecue. Excellent day.

  26. In progress. Our Ulon management is now promoting Daniel Jonathan Davis; who’s an author, and Spoken Word artist.
